As an extension to being the nominated signage supplier to UNSW for over 4 years Cunneen Signs were engaged to deliver a comprehensive signage package for the new UNSW Health Translation Hub—a $600 million, 15-storey facility at the heart of the Randwick Health and Innovation Precinct. Designed by Architectus and delivered by Hansen Yuncken, the building unites education, research, and clinical practice in a single, world-class environment focused on innovation, collaboration, and community access.

Our scope encompassed over 2000 internal and external signage elements, including three large-scale illuminated sky signs, four illuminated building ID signs, and two illuminated totems. These external elements were engineered to integrate with the building’s striking façade, with the sky signs installed by a specialised high ropes team to ensure precision and safety at height.

Internally, we delivered a full suite of signage solutions tailored to the diverse functions of the building. This included lift and room identifiers, amenities signage, suspended directional signs, mask and spray graphics, and safety decals—each fabricated and installed to suit a range of spaces including laboratories, lecture theatres, workplace zones, and shared clinical areas.

Cunneen Signs worked closely and in collaboration with several stakeholders to provide an elegant engineering solution for the external signs as they are all seen from inside the large glass façad panels. Detailed sampling was completed to review the intended design and compliance standards of this complex institutional project. All elements were delivered with durability, legibility, and architectural integration in mind.

This project demonstrates Cunneen Signs’ capability to deliver high-volume, technically complex signage solutions with a time sensitive programme.
